About Rachel
As a Teaching Elder and Global Ecumenical Liaison with Presbyterian Life & Witness (PL&W), I connect with mid-councils and congregations in within the four synods of Covenant, Lakes & Prairies, Lincoln Trails, and Living Waters. While my focus is mission, I am also here to help you find the staff member, information, or connection you are seeking at PL&W. If you’re not sure who to reach out to, contact me and I will find the best person to address your need.
Mission, of course, is my purpose. Let’s start by being conversation partners. From there I can accompany you as is best for your context and people. Maybe we will arrange a Bible study or screening of “Evicting the American Dream.” We could work through a study of your presbytery’s mission – its history and it’s current context. I might be able to connect you with a colleague for a specific training, such as practical support for immigrant neighbors and communities. It could be most helpful for me to be a conversation and prayer partner during your process.
At the heart, my work rises from a belief that our strongest relationships are not built on what one partner can offer another, but on the mutual dignity that is built as we honestly offer our vulnerability and resources for each other. That is partnership! I am passionate about creating connections that move beyond transactions toward genuine relationship. I believes God’s love binds us together, making us more fully who we are meant to be.
When not sharing mission with you, I can be found gardening, visiting old and new friends, and being near trees. Jim, my spouse, Emma and Jackson, our two young adult children, and I live in Louisville KY with our animal family: Theodore (cat), Adam (corn snake) and Ms. Tiggywinkle (dog).
Next time you are in Louisville, let me take you to lunch!
